Welcome to Phantom Mail! These terms explain how our service works and what we expect from each other. We've written them to be clear and fair.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Phantom Mail (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If these terms don't work for you, please don't use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Phantom Mail provides disposable email addresses on the @unkn0wn.qzz.io and @phant0m.qzz.io domains for receiving — and, with an account, sending — email. The Service includes:

Free Plan: Addresses that self-destruct 1 hour after generation, holding up to 10 emails; 1 saved address; 3 UI sends/day. API keys can receive only (10 emails/day) — API sending is blocked.
Premium Plan ($5/month or $40/year): 15-day retention (up to 45 emails/address), 15 saved addresses, custom handle + domain choice, email forwarding, 25 UI sends/day, and Developer API access (500 receive + 50 send per day).

Sending requires an account. Anonymous sending is disabled — you must be signed in to send mail, and API sending requires a Premium API key.

3. User Responsibilities

You're in control of how you use our service. We ask that you use it responsibly and legally.

🔒 Privacy First:

We don't monitor your usage or share your data with anyone. We can't see what you're doing with our service, and we won't report your activities to authorities or third parties. You're responsible for your own actions.

3.1 Please Use Responsibly:

Use the Service in ways that comply with your local laws
Respect others and don't use the service to harm people
Don't abuse the service infrastructure or try to overload our systems
Keep your account secure if you create one

We trust you to make good decisions with the privacy tools we provide.

4. Account Terms

4.1 Account Creation

You can create an account to access Premium features
Choose a username and strong password
Keep your login credentials secure - you're responsible for your account
Password Recovery: If you added a recovery email, you can reset your password with a one-time code sent to it. Without a recovery email, a lost password cannot be recovered, so keep yours safe.

4.2 Account Security

You're responsible for what happens with your account
Let us know if you suspect someone else accessed your account
Don't share your credentials with others

5. Service Availability

We provide the Service "as-is" without uptime guarantees. We work hard to keep everything running smoothly, but sometimes things happen:

Maintenance: We occasionally need to perform maintenance
Downtime: Technical issues or infrastructure problems may cause temporary outages
No Liability: We're not liable for service interruptions - we're doing our best!

6. Email Retention and Deletion

Free Users: Addresses self-destruct 1 hour after generation and hold up to 10 emails; the oldest email is dropped once the address exceeds 10.
Premium Users: Emails are retained for 15 days, then automatically deleted; up to 45 per address (30 inbox + 15 starred).
Address Ownership: A fresh, human-looking username is generated each time and no address history is stored. A previously generated address can only be re-claimed using the Ed25519 key you held at generation.
No Data Recovery: Once emails are deleted (manually or automatically), they cannot be recovered.

7. User Responsibility and Liability

You're in charge of how you use our service. Here's what that means:

You decide how to use the Service
We don't monitor your usage, so we can't tell you if what you're doing is legal in your area
It's your job to make sure you're following your local laws
You handle the consequences of your choices

We provide privacy tools. You choose how to use them responsibly.

8. Premium Subscription

8.1 Payment Terms

Premium subscriptions cost $5/month or $40/year and are paid in cryptocurrency via NOWPayments.
Premium access is activated once your payment confirms on-chain.
Cryptocurrency amounts are quoted in USD and settled at the network rate at time of payment; on-chain transactions are final and cannot be reversed by us.
No refunds after activation. Because Premium is delivered immediately once payment confirms, all sales are final and non-refundable after your subscription is activated, except where a refund is strictly required by applicable law.

8.2 Cancellation

You may cancel your Premium subscription at any time by contacting us
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
No prorated refunds are provided for partial months or years

9. Developer API

If you use our Developer API, you agree to:

Respect your key's daily limits: Free keys can receive only (10 emails/day) and cannot send; Premium keys allow 500 receive + 50 send per day.
Respect our fair-use and abuse-protection thresholds, which apply in addition to the published quotas.
Not abuse, scrape, flood, or overload the API.
Keep your API key secure and confidential.
Not use the API for prohibited activities listed in Section 3.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and materials on Phantom Mail are the property of Phantom Mail or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

11. Limitation of Liability

Important legal stuff:

The Service is provided "as-is" and "as available" - we make no warranties
We're not liable for damages arising from your use of the Service
We're not responsible for:
- Loss of emails, data, or account access
- Unauthorized access to your emails or account
- How you or others use the Service
- Third-party actions, security breaches, or malicious actors
- Service interruptions or data loss

We're providing a privacy tool, not a guarantee of perfection. Use it wisely.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Phantom Mail, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

Your use or misuse of the Service
Your violation of these Terms of Service
Your violation of any law or regulation
Your infringement of third-party rights

13. Third-Party Services

We rely on a small set of providers to operate the Service: Cloudflare (hosting, Workers, KV/R2 storage, and email routing), Pusher (real-time inbox push), Resend (outbound and transactional email delivery), and NOWPayments (crypto payment processing). While we trust these providers, we can't control everything they do, and their own terms and policies also apply.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable international laws. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the service operator is based.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
